Greetings From Paraguay!
This is my Christmas Card this year. I apologize for the alarming gap in the goings on in my life while far away, I know it must be frustrating and I'm sorry I've done a poor job over these past 6 months. I'm doing very well here and will now try to rack my brain for the important things that have happened to me over these past few months.
I've continued working with preschool and kindergarten classrooms on dental health and other health related themes. I was able to work with another Volunteer in her site for a several day workshop about adult education. Most recently I've worked at one of the high school's in my town to put on a several day workshop about envinronmenal education, I was able to do this in cooperation with two other Volunteers as well. At the moment I am designing and preparing to run several different week long summer camps (environmental education, personal health, and self esteem), so hopefully all goes well there!
As of September, I am living alone for the first time in my life. I have a cute little pale yellow house which is definately too big for just myself. But fortunately I was not alone for very long; in early October one of my neighbor girls came over with her arms brimming with puppies and asked me which one I wanted. I was sceptical about how good of an idea it was to take on the challenge of a pet, but I realized I had the means, time, and desire to invest in a four legged friend. I simply told her that I wanted the smallest female of the litter, and Antonia promptly handed me the tiniest pale little puppy out of the litter of much bigger black pups. That was October 8th, so Luna and I have been together over three months now. We are very happy together. We go on two walks everyday. She knows how to sit, lay down and we're working on stay at the moment. Also we're in the process of house training, hopefully we figure that out PRONTO.
I hope everyone is doing well back home, if you have a free moment and would like to share what you're up to, I'd naturally love to hear and respond . I love you all very much. Carly
